Default '69 COIL

Have a '69 350/350. The wiring and coil look ratty enough to be original.

Looking at the wiring diagrams, they show two wires from the positive; one to the solenoid and one through the bulkhead (to the ignition?).

1.) My car only has the one through the bulkhead (but runs fine). Am I missing anything here? Could someone take a look and tell me what you've got?

2.) The coil bracket has a smaller canister attached, maybe radio supressor? Looks like there may have been a wire from the top at one time? Anyone know what this is, and where the wire would go if so equipped?

3.) Was the original coil black or silver? Bracket?

THANKS!

The capacitor is for the radio. You should only have one wire from inside. The other is from the starter solenoid to give the coil 12 volts during cranking. The other wire is a resistance wire in leu of a ballast resistor. The coil is black and the bracket is silver unless someone painted it.
