SERPINTINE BELT CONVERSION???????
A guy can buy a crap-load of V-belts for that amount. I am keeping my setup unless I win the lottery.

now with a little judicious looking, like I did 7 some odd years ago. when stuff was more expensive than today...newer parts...the changeover cost me about 200 bux, total.....plus eliminator kit....which is not really necessary, just gets rid of that silly air pump doing nothing...

Coming back from vacation across the Nevada wasteland and the R4 A/C compressor decides to fry a front bearing. When that happens, your looking for a place to pull over, because your done driving. Know what's out in Nevada? Nothing! And cell phones don't work either.
Then, 6 months later as I'm leaving with a load of kids on a field trip, the alternator locks up. No noises or warning, just dropped a brush and again, we're walkin'!
If my waterpump didn't counter-rotate from the crank, I would have welded on a set of pulleys for an emergency v-belt. At least that way I could limp in.
With the individual v-belts on the vette, I could just cut the offending belt and press on.

but then again...once I 'know' a car, I can hear something wrong well before most people....it's kinds like...something 'changes'...the rhythm of the machinery is 'differant'...and so I go into diagnostic mode when I"m driving....looking for sound sources.....this is one reason, there are many, I do not play music/noise in a car while driving...just habit...

It looks like everything needed to convert to a serpentine setup, but I've never heard of anybody using it before. It doesn't seem like a bad price either, especially if you are going to replace your accesories with new/rebuilt ones.

Anyone use GM's kit for accessory belts? I have brand new rebuilt 454 and I need alternator, water pump, PS pump and AC compressor anyway. thinking this might be a good way to get all of those components and go with a serpentine setup as well.
thoughts??

A friend of mine drilled his big block heads for the small block serp setup and used it on his can without any problems. another friend wanted the same but didnt want to drill the heads so he made brackets to adapt from the 454 heads to the 350 serp setup.

On the passenger side the wheel between the AC and the crankshaft would hit the upper control arm, so you need to reverse the mounting bracket and purchase a different (shorter) belt.
Yours being a big block may not have this issue.
