I had trouble find the Dwell meter I purchased from Sears. People now just do not know what they need to for their jobs in the automotive parts. I am only 23, but I know more than most of the managers of places like Autozone. The only parts place I really trust is NAPA most of their employs know what they need to.
I bought an Equus?? timing light from Summit for about $119.
It has a digital readout that tells you engine RPM and degrees of advance simultaneously.
The best part was, before I received the light, I saw it in JC Whitney for $99, then I callled Summit, and they credited me the differance, plus 3 cents extra.
My old light shows advance OR rpm, but not both, plus it is circa 1970, and looks it. So I upgraded!!
Your engine looks great vettfixer! Are those hose's spectre's? As I change out my engine components I'd like to replace the hoses and lines like you did. It sure makes it sparkle!
All timing lights hook up the same +, -, and #1 spark plug. Make sure you get a light that can measure advance, If not you are only doing half the job.
