I changed the wiper switch on my '79 and found that the only way to get to the switch was to take the whole dash out. (Aaahhhh!)

I would suggest that you double check to find out if there is a much quicker & easier way first... but I couldn't find one!!

It sounds (and looks) alot worse than it is... but once you get started it's pretty straight forward, so don't panic!

Once you've removed the centre instrument cluster and unscrewed everything unscrewable, the only tricky bit is lifting out the actual dash panel itself.
You'll notice that it fit's snugly around the windscreen pillars, and how ever you angle it, you just can't get the damn thing out... however, the secret is that you bend up the corners of the panel where they tuck behind the windscreen pillars (you'll see an indented line alond the top of the panel where you bend)

The thought of trying to bend 20 year old vynil made me wince... though i did actually manage to do it without cracking anything off (... i broke it when putting it back in instead!)

Once it's out you can get to the switch no problem.

Have fun!

I was able to replace mine by just removing the speedo/tach cluster. Once the cluster is out there was all kinds of room to reach around the dash to get the screws out.
