Re: Dwell Meter recommendations (Stewart's74)
i dont remember the brand, but it was from Kragens. they have a timing light/engine analyzer in one. i think it was $180 but it does tach, dwell, timing, and the light will give you total advance also. very good unit, at least i'm happy with it 2 years old and no problems. the $180 one was the most expensive one, with the red rubberized housing.

Jack, do you have the Sears one? I saw they have 2. $29 & $49. I'll most likely go this route due to their return policy

Re: Dwell Meter recommendations (silvervetteman)
Here is a stupid question. What is dwell? How does it relate to timing?

Re: Dwell Meter recommendations (Stewart's74)
Dwell is measured in degrees. It is the number of degrees the points are closed. Because of the adjustment available the timing must be checked and re-set if needed after adjusting the dwell. Particularly after installing a new set of points.

Re: (Sigforty)
The one from Sear's works great. Low and high dwell and tach, volts, amp shunt etc. For $70 it is deal.
