A friend has a 72 factory air car with astro ventilation and has those tubs and drain tubes. Some time after 72 (might be 73) the factory AC cars did not have astro ventilation and the grills were not functional. This apparently ended with the 75 production year (at least that is the best I could figure). :eek:

I have a May 1974 built L82 air conditioned coupe that appears to have the original bodywork ( I've put my head in there and checked thoroughly ) and it is the same as Finnsharks and yours. The vents seem to be just for show. No drain tubes or anything. I use compressed air to blow the water out after washing. I hope this helps. :cheers:
