Default Project Update: Stereo Install

Well after 2 days I think I have made quite a bit of progress.

Work done so far.
- Front speaker wire is run and has the ends set up.
- Amp mounting board is cut and ready to be screwed into the back fiberglass wall.
- Jack well is all tin-foiled and taped up and ready for glass and resin (MJ you friggen rock).
- The mounting bracket is set up in the center panel and ready for the deck.
- The deck wiring harness is soldered in and ready to be used, all that remains is the rear speaker wire.

Still to do
- Glass the jack well
- Make the rear speaker mounts
- Figure out what I am going to do about the 4x6s in the front (I am going to exchange them for a lower profile speaker)
- Wire the rear speakers
- Run the RCAs for the Sub and front speakers
- Mount it all up.

Pictures are here

I am creating a custom fiberglass box to hold a 10" sub. I am using the fiberglass so that I can maximize the ammount of cubic footage that I get. My goal is to hide the sub in the jack well so that you will not even know it is there untill you hear it.

Hopefully I won't have that problem. :-) Fingers crossed. I should have it all hooked up by the weekend.

I will let you know.

Ya. I have done it before (although I was making a RC Boat). I am putting in the first layer tonight, so we shall see how well it goes :-)

it's looking good .... and a 10inch woofer is gonna KICK!

i mounted a couple of 8 inch (i think?) woofers in the bulkhead just behind the seats, driven by an amp which i sqeezed just behide the battery in it's cubby hole .. plus i upgraded the rear speakers ..... it turned out to be a pretty cool little system.

Thanks. Hopefully I will be done next week. Although the search for 4x6 speakers that fit in the dash is getting kinda frustrating.

The colour was painted by a former owner. I have no idea what actual colour it is, but the car is supposed to be black according to the trim tag. So one day it will be black again. :-)
