Trans fluid turned PINK! WTF!!!

I started back up on the Vette this week. I noticed that my leaking trans fluid has turned PINK! I had a leak coming from the dip stick hole. I put some RTV Blue around it. I'm guessing that in reacted with it. During the summer I noticed it still was leaking a litttle bit but the color of the fluid was red. This is the first time I have looked at the car since the fall. I had some water leaks over the winter and their was standing water on the floor. That made my day, another thing to fix!! Water droplets covered the the underside of the car from the moisture. Not sure if that help the two reacted?
Anyone know what the hell is going on with this pink trans fluid and what I should do? :(

If the fluid is pink, it's because it has mixed with water. So, if you have pink fluid on your garage floor, it mixed with water on the floor. If it is coming out of your transmission that way, you probably have a leak in your trans cooler heat exchanger inside the radiator tank. LOL

Could be normal, ATF can go thru a color transformation as it reacts to heat.
Starts out red, gets gradually lighter (pink) before getting dark :U
I would change the fluid to be safe :cheers:

:iagree: It could be a react to temperatures, but more likely the pink color comes from mixing with water.

It's a long shot, but maybe it has leaked down to the level that the pump is
pulling a little air and mixing the fluid with teeny air bubbles. Similar to
making vegetable oil into shortening (although a different process is used).

I vote radiator tank leak.

If it is bright pink kinda like the color of cotton candy, its water. I have an EL Camino that the trans cooler in the radiator started leaking and poof bright pink trans fluid. You will need to take it to a shop that has a machine that will suck all of the trans fluid out ot the tyranny. Dropping the pan and changing the fluid will not get it. Been there done that. :rant: :leaving:

Hey bro, I forgot to tell you. Last weekend while you were up north sking, me and mike to your car out for a cruise. We noticed that the fluid was low. Well, the only thing we had was a bottle of pepto bismo. I hope we didn't do any damage!! :lolg: :party: :party: :party: :party: :party:
