I am persuaded/humbled by your replies. They make sense. I will take back my negative feedback. Or accurately post a further comment since retraction is not an option. Have to eat crow sometimes. Thanks....
hey paul, are you sure you got burned? i mean if you bought a US product and it was $50 US and you paid $90 CDN. then, with the exchange rate you probably got it for a bargain!
:lolg:
o.k., o.k., sorry paul. no more jokes at your expense! sorry you got burned. but hey, that's what i think everytime i hear about someone buying speed parts from ecklers or MAD.
Bah, leave the negative feedback. You may have agreed to everything, but so do the old people that get scammed out of all their money. The guy was just out to screw people.
I'm impressed that you are admitting you are wrong. Not many people can do that. Good luck on future Ebaying! I've been lucky enought not to get burned yet...
I should have used the word overpaid rather than burned. I have spent the last two hours dying the product and it looks very nice. Again, no complaints on the quality of what I received. I should not have started this thread.
Dwayne,
I wish to pick up further on that word burned. I used it but took it back. I overpaid. Plain and simple. The goods were delivered to me. And look very nice: the dye prep by me is now finished. So I over-paid for a good product. I think the product was mis-represented as to its origin by a nice, little and subtle change in its brand name but I will let that pass. In other words I could have gone to the company's web site and found the normal retail selling price if I knew the true brand name. Nice marketing trick and I fell for it. Normally I search on variations of the key words but I was slow on this one. I will leave matters at that for the evening. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose....No real harm done.
cant blame anybody for trying to make a buck,,,,BUT,,resellers ( value added.? )sellers should be close to average selling price...price gouging SHOULD get negative feedback....how many others are going to get ripped off
because somebody is to lazy to get a real job ..??
in the feed back list his selling price and where and how much it can be bought for elsewhere..think of how much grief you can save other ( vette )
people..dont lay down and get s**t on..!!....i work hard for my money and spend ALL of it one way or another and all i want for it is my moneys worth...
dont take the blame yourself,,you were taken in by a charlatan,,in the old days he would be hung by the neck until dead .!!..
if somebody on the forum did that you can bet everybody would hear about it..so whats the diff??......burn him..!!
How in the hell can an AUCTION have price gouging?
Price gouging is when you have no choice but to buy that item for WAY too much. Like boat gas on an isolated island or that last hotel room for 300 miles priced at 5x normal.
It's not price gouging when a vendor asks too much for a common item that you really don't have to have. This is especially true when it's an auction.
Come on.
In more general terms, I am awaiting the week of April 14.
Dont you mean the week of Sunday, April 13?? thats my birthday, hehe. 17 in less than a month.
Sorry to hear about the wrist. Hope its better before the car gets back so you can enjoy it ASAP!
Hey Paul: Yeah, 'ya gotta watch out for that ole e-Bay "trick". I always check out stuff sold on it & do my homework before "bidding". I've found out that 9 times outta 10 the stuff sold on ePAY is the same price or higher than you can get it outside of EPAY. Soory to hear that you ended up paying more than I think you should of. Doesn't that hurt? Whatta bummer!
If you are going to buy on ebay you need to know what you are doing just like buying anywhere else. The value of an item is what a buyer will pay for it. I have seen hundreds of times items on ebay that are sold for more than what you can buy it for in any one of several vendors catalogs.
If you work for a GM dealer then you know that half of the NOS items sold on ebay are still available from GM parts or GM Restoration parts for half the price they are going for on Ebay. The ebay buyers don't know that and the sellers do. There is a price for knowledge. You just paid it.
If you bought it and it was as represented and you received it in a timely manner then you have no beef or any right to leave negative feedback. Let the buyer beware. you live and learn. Don't blame someoneelse for your mistake.
I think you guys should lay off Paul, he's already admitted he was a little quick to leave the negative feedback, so give him a break. He is an asset to this Forum, and I don't want to see what happened over in the "Factory Restoration" section happen over here.
I hope it makes you guys feel better that in my free time I sit on ebay and search out fraudulent accounts. I discovered 6 accounts a few days ago that were stolen and used by a person in NJ who listed hundreds of thousands of dollars of electronic equipment. When I called him he offered wire transfers or a money gram as payment only.I called the owner of the account and he informrd mr he had no current auctions. I got all 6 of the accounts shut down. Im the past I have been ripped off but it was for one dollar thank goodness. As far as over paying DONE THAT! and as far as getting junk I have taken stuff out of the box and thrown it straight into the trash can.
I'm glad Paul did what he did.. I don't buy from e-bay but I do buy online.. If there's a place that describes past buyers experiences then I read. If it's a part I can't find anywhere else and I read that this guy is expensive.. I can make the choice. If I read the part if available elsewhere cheaper and the guy is basically charging TOO MUC then I'll look elsewhere. So I say "Thanks" to Paul for voiceing his feelings and maybe helping someone else not make the same mistake..
