Default 1968 Front Wheel Hubs

Does anyone know if there is a difference between a 68 front wheel hub and other third gen front hubs? I have been told recently that the 68 hub is a one year only design. The reason I ask is that I puchased a hub from a swap awhile back in preperation to replace mine, figuring that they would be interchangable with any C3. If there is a difference, does anyone know the critical dimensions to determine if I purchased a 68 or not?

Thank You
Matt

I "think" the 65-68 hub is the same, the difference is in the spindle, the 68 spindle takes larger bolts for mounting the steering arms. ...redvetracr

Yes, and 69-up has larger bearings.

The hub and spindle are different. 65 - 68 are the same, 69-82 are the same. I just finished swapping to larger bearing spindles and hub/rotors. Cost less than buying two 68 hubs. 69 -82 backing plates have a larger center hole. The steering arms and caliper mounting brackets all interchange 65 - 82.
