:banghead: Failed Idle emission test today. :nono:
HC should be 300, I tested at 1384. How do I correct that?
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. :flag
Maybe retard the ignition timing. It wont run as good but should blow better numbers. Then re-set it afterwards. New plugs and an air filter wouldnt hurt. Doed it still have tha cat convertor installed?

Can't answer your question but you do qualify for QQ plates if the '77 is not your daily driver or I guess even if it is.
No inspection with those plates..
There are a number of reasons for high HC readings , and a lean misfire is one of them . As well as bad plug, bad wire, vac leak, cracked cap, etc etc etc ! An HC reading that high should be checked out !
What were your other readings (CO and NOx)? That HC reading is very high. I had an old camaro once that had bad valve seals on one head. It had true duals with no crossover and one side had a HC reading of 170 and the other side 2200.
Thanks for all the info. At the end of last year I changed the plugs, wires, cap, air cleaner and rotor. Vac is good on the car as far as I can tell. Never checked the carb, so that will be next. Now that I think of it I had a problem with one of Mickey M's relatives running around under the hood and noshing on my transmission collar. Maybe he ate some of the wires for an appitizer.
By the way HC should have been 300 were 1384; Co% should be 3.00 were 0.26. The RPM's were 754.
