Default Original 68 427 block

Recently, I have been given the possible opportunity to purchase an original 427 for a 68 vette (I don't know what horsepower). I have been told that one of the cylinders has been sleeved. I have not seen the block yet, but I was told that the head surface looks fine, but there is a gap at the bottom of the cylinder where it looks like it was not pressed down all the way. My question is if this block would be functionaly OK? I would like to take some penetrant and see if the sleeve is cracked, but is there anything else to consider with a sleeved cylinder? Also, how much would the bare block typically sell for? My 68 is not an original Big Block vette but it would be cool to stuff it in there.

Thanks
Matt
