Default Dumb question about water pump hardware

I have bought a new Stewarts Stage 1 water pump for the 71. There are no fan bolts/studs installed. Here is the dumb question. Is it possible to remove the old studs from the old water pump or do I need to buy new studs? If they can be removed from the old pump, how do I do it without damaging the threads? I can't figure out how to remove them. Thanks,
Rick in Tennessee

Yes, you can use the old studs. Vise grips should do it easily as not that tight.
Should come out easily, of course you could put some light oil on them & let them soak.

"Lock" two nuts together and ROTATE! :D

Buy new studs and leave your original pump,uh.......Pristine!

The Lock/Jam nut method will work, but why bother, huh?
