Windshield Wipers Not Working
When I turn on the wipers in my '70, the wiper door opens, but the wipers never turn on. I'm not sure where to begin for troubleshooting. I'm guessing the switch is good since the wiper opens when I turn the wiper switch from "OFF" to "LOW" (or "HIGH"). Could it be the wiper motor? And if so, is there an easy way of testing this without having to buy a new motor to replace the old one?

First thing to check is the switch that the open wiper door closes. It is just about in the middle of the rear engine bay, The door is designed to push a plunger out toward the engine.
John Pashals(sp) weekend projects has a good check list procedure to run electrical checks on the wiper motor etc.

Check that the wiper motor actually is grounded, especially if anyone was working around that starter motor...there is a black wire about 10 ga....that goes to GROUND,.....NOT the battery positive...

Make sure the back dial **** under the dash by the steering column is in the correct position. It's the **** you turn to "freeze" the wipers for changing the blades. I bought two different Vettes where I was told "the wiper motor is shot", and this was the only problem! The wipers won't work with the **** turned the wrong way.
