Which cylinder heads are found on an (1971) LT1 engine? The reason why I ask, I am looking at a Torker II manifold and I noticed on Edelbrock's website that it will not fit an LT1 cylinder head.
I know my enigne is from a 71 vette and I have 3927186 cylinder heads.
Re: Cylinder Heads found on a LT1 Engine (turtlevette)
I believe they are talking aout the new LT1 (C4 corvettes) reverse flow design.
:iagree:
The older Chevy small block cylinder heads are broadly interchangeable, and you could always purchase a Chevy small block interchange manual (I have an old one, and it's a great reference book).
Re: Cylinder Heads found on a LT1 Engine (SharkAttack)
That was my thought also but I guess I figured that not to many people would be putting a Torker II on a "newer" LT1. I figured I would ask before buying one. Off to Ebay.....
Re: Cylinder Heads found on a LT1 Engine (69stingray)
According to MountainMotor the original Torquer and TM-1 were much better designed intakes than the Torquer 2. That is why Olivier and I went that route.

Thanks, I am trying to gain some hood clearance and a little more bottom-end torque.
What aspect of the design of the Orig. Torker makes it better? It looks like the runner layout is designed for better high RPM breathing.
Re: Cylinder Heads found on a LT1 Engine (69stingray)
The orignal design favored high rpm power while the II's runners improved low rpm performance, but at the expense of some high rpm power. Which is better depends on the engine and how it's used.
