JRODDVETTE, I used to work for a S.S. distributor & got a 20' length of tubing for N/C (it had a smack right in the middle of the length). The 45's & 90's (5 of each) cost $120, the mufflers were around $65 each, the flanges (header), clamps, a pair of hangers, welding rod & a bottle of Patron cost about another $115. So I have about $365 into the system (I didn't include the lunch & dinners for my buddy & his wife) plus our time. Good luck if you decide to tackle it on your own, again just take your time.
427hotrod, Thanks! We're hanging out in the wrong part of the playground! Anyway, I've seen some of your posts before & I really dig your car. If you don't mind me asking, what are you using for induction? Right now I'm using a Dart intake w/a race demon. I'm currently using a moroso drop base with a 2" element & I can get it all under the stock (stinger) hood. It does (top of the air cleaner)rub ever so slightly though. I notice that you have everything under your hood also. What air cleaner setup are you using? Thanks DJ.

Do you have any more shots of that 3" exhaust system? Looks fantastic!
I went with a 2 1/2" stainless bolt on setup that runs both pipes down one side,and I've never been thrilled with the fit to the under carrage.My original thaught was to spend the extra for stainless so I wouldn't have to deal with it again,but I wonder with the 406 if 2 1/2 " is too small.
I've seen a few dyno charts that favor 1 5/8" primaries to the larger size that most sidepipe setups run for this combination,so I'd prefer an undercar exhaust,exiting out the rear,also no burnt legs or police inquesition.
Any thaughts on this?Will I feel a difference with 3" pipes,or would a good set of mufflers make up any difference I'd gain with the bigger pipes?
I'm not in the market yet,just batting around some thaughts. :steering:
