Uni-points vs. separate condenser

Default Uni-points vs. separate condenser

Gentlemen,
I'm working on a tune-up on the 74, and the points and condenser I got at Pep Boys is a so-called "Uni-points" where the condenser is integrated to the points assembly.

What I pulled out of the distributor is a separate condenser from the breaker points.

So I suppose that the black wire that went from the old condenser to the old points assembly is no longer needed with the Uni-points.

But there's also a black wire connecting the vacuum advance diaphram to a screw on the old condenser, and the new uni-points assembly does not have this screw. Is this simply a ground wire? On the new uni-points condenser, I connected this wire to the mounting screw - hopefully in a fashion where it's out of the way of the rotating part of the distributor.

What are your thoughts? Is that appropriate? Or am I mixing up parts inappropriately? Right now it's not starting.

I never buy parts from Pepboys. They straight up suck. Never have anything I need in stock and the people who work there are worthless. When I was running points before the ZZ4 I would to go to NAPA. They have good quality parts and the people that know cars working there.
