The first question is pretty dumb but it has been so long I don't remember.
1. Do you pull the **** out to turn on the headlights or does the **** just turn ? I can't pull mine out so I don't want to force it in case it only turns.
2. I think my headlight switch bezel is broken but I'm not sure. The slotted screw that goes through the dash to the switch, is there suppose to be a sholder inside the bezel that the nut tightens up against? The opening in the bezel I have is wider than the nut so what holds the bezel to the dash?

Pulling the headlight **** out is all that is required to turn on your headlights. If you don't have a/c and the associated vents, taking your headlight **** off is a fairly simple task. Wiggle your hand (here's hoping you don't have weight lifter hands) up to the area where your switch is. On top of the switch is a button. While depressing the button, pull the **** all the way out. It should release completely. Of course you will want to disconnect the battery to keep it from discharging. Then there is a nut holding the switch in. If my memory is good, the nut is a 5/8" thin nut. Simply back it off, and remove the switch from underneith after you have removed the plug. Replacement switches are available from all of the catalog companies and perhaps even your local GM dealer. The bezel, the gizmo that says "Lights" is also available from the vendors. I was able to glue mine together using Super Glue and it is still holding after two years.
