Former club member selling his 89 grey metalic convert.
Sweet car, 24,000 miles I looked up the info on it and I think it was one of 230 with that color and a convert. garaged and very well maintained. Any ideas on pricing ?
Its been posted on the C4 board, not one post in return. I guess they are not up to speed like us C3 folks! :yesnod:
What is his asking price. I would expect it would be in the mid teens range....16-17 if it is cherry. I am no expert on c4 pricing though. I gotta say though....that is a really sharp car in that color. Do you have any more pictures of it?
Hmmm...nice low mileage C4s are hard to gauge...the book will tell you one thing, but having a nice example is another thing altogether.
The '89 has an L98 engine, which is definitely nice but not usually as coveted as the LT1/LT4. 'Verts always get more $$$, and that is a low mileage car. I am going to guess that it's a low to mid $teen car. Try surfing Collector Car trader and check your local newspaper for quick comparisons. What is the guy asking?
Jeff
The bad thing about an '89 is that is the older body style and the older "Atari" dash. I'm not a big fan od fully digital istruments but to each their own. I have a '91 vert and it's the new body style and new interior and dash. I love the torque of the L98 and the ease of working on it compared to the OB II LT1's and LS1's.
He was offered 22K for the car. He didnt want to sell it without asking me first, since last summer I told him I was interested. I sold my 90 a year or so ago.....figured I have some cash when his was available.
I loved my 90, nice classic white over red. Interior was much better then th 89...and whats with that "pillow" on the passenger dash ?
Anyway I'm 14 months away from finishing up child support and already stashed her college money away. I think its time to treat myself to a C5.
I may just pass on this car.....and hold out for 14 months and order the new ride!
I have been watching C4 prices closely (I can dream can't I? :) ) and I am surprised he hesitated for one second if offered $22k cash!! That is a great offer and captures the rarity value, convertible, and low mileage..... all the things that make the car worth more than about $10k, the going rate for more broken in 89s. :) MJ
$22K for an 89  He should have took that money in a heart beat. I would think a pristine low mile 89 would not go for more then $12K-$13K at best.
