Default Nose Cone replacement

I just purchased a new fiberglass nose cone and went to replace it and found that my "74 corvette had a "plastic"one on it and the new one doesn't match completely. The old one has bolts on the bottom to hold it in. The new one doesn't have any place for bolts. I don't know if this is the right piece or they had the wrong piece on it before. Thanks

Welcome to the forum, I see you are kind of new here, and I hope I'm not the first to say welcome. I haven't heard of very many fiberglass front bumpers that didn't require tons of modifications to make them fit. The original urethane (flexible) ones were much more forgiving, but they would show ripples, even when the cars were new. I have said this here several times that if I had the chance to start over with the front bumper on my 75 I would get the urethane one for 2 reasons: easier to fit, less likely to cause extended damage to the fenders and hood surround in the event of a collision. Feel free to check out the picture of what I had to do for fit with mine on the last page of my web site. :D

By the way, the original urethane bumpers are still available from GM at a reasonable price.
