Now it's kicking down!
Thank you to all that responded to my post regarding the problem with the transmission not wanting to kickdown into a lower gear on my 74. It definitely kicks in now!! It turns out that the gas pedal rod was not coming into contact with the electronic switch enough to activate the solenoid.
After some investigating and a slight re-shaping of the gas pedal rod, the switch works like it should again. As an added bonus, after cleaning the ground wire connection, the cowl induction works too!

glad it works!
i added a micro-lever switch to the console so i can get 1st coming around a corner at part throttle. see my link in sig. for details. :steering:
