I need the torque setting for the (11/16" - 16 - 7/8") bolt located
at the top of the front steering knuckle for a 1973 corvette.
The bolt attaches the front disk splash shield, steering knuckle,
and caliper adapter bracket together. I cannot find the answer in any Chevy shop manual or any other source material

Re: Torque Setting (Ethan)
Cannot give you a direct answer on that. But what I CAN say, is that manuals have a torque spec general info that is listed by bolt/thread SIZE. Find that and you'll have your answer.
I couldnt find a specific # for that particular bolt in my manual either. A bolt that size could easiely handle 100 ftlbs. A bolt like that I would just run up good and tight. Anywhere between 80 and 100 would be fine in my opinion.
Ethan, Send me your email and I'll send you a general torque chart. It doesn't have 11/16 on there but it has everything up to 1" along with bolt markings. It will at least give you some guidelines. Anyone else interested in the chart let me know.
