Well, I think I need a new one. My door latches primary, but the secondary will not latch without significant pressure. I removed the strike plate and swung it closed just to make sure it wasn't hitting something else. But it was smooth.
When it closes, you can hear it smack into the latch and bounce off. Apply some pressure and uncooperatively latches closed.
Jack71, you might consider removing the latch assy and cleaning with a degreaser and relubing with lithium grease. Mine was sticky and that is what I did to make them work lots better. Just a thought... :jester
I wonder if this would help my latest problem ?
If you use the exterior handle to open the passenger door, it will not latch
when closed. You have to work the interior handle and then you will hear
the mechanism inside the door release. Then the door will lock.
I just have to be faster than the passenger to open the door for them or we
go nowhere until I get it to release again.
Sounds like I need to take out the mechanism and grease it up.. :smash:
