Another Spreader Bar Question?
Hey guys, I have been following the recent threads on the spreader bar with some interest. I'm pretty sure I want to install one on my 68 which I autocross 3-6 days a year. I have the stock fan and it looks like it will fit in but the tabs would have to be welded about 3" forward of the rear bolt. Since the area around the bolts of the A-arm shaft is raised this would mean there would be approx. a 1/16" gap between the spreader bar bracket and the A-arm shaft. I'm thinking that when pressure is applied by the spreader bar or by crossmember flex that this 1/16" gap would be forced closed and pressure would end up on the A-arm shaft. Do you think this could lead to a problem or do any of you have a similar setup? Thanks for any help. Craig :flag
