Default T-Top Modifications

How hard is it to modify a t-top from a '78 - 82 to fit a '75? What does it entail? I would like to put some glass tops on my '75 and it seems like there are more listed for '78 to 82 then any other years.

I believe the only mod is to add the rear striker plate...

But I could be wrong,
Hopefully someone that knows better than me chimes in here.... :seeya

So I should be able to take the hardware off of mine and move them over to some tops that are for 78 - 82?

Thanks,
Ron

That should work. I believe the change was due to the inclusion of an anti-theft switch in the T-tops. Try to find a C3 owner in your area and ask to see if they will let you try your hardware with their tops.

I have the opposite problem. I always find fiberglass tops for 77 or older. I have been wondering what the real difference is between them and the 78-82. Could I make a pair of 68-77 fit my 78?

An alternative might be the one piece ackrilic (tinted plastic) top for C-3's. No mods necessary to coupe...locks right in place of T-tops. Around $400. on Ebay

Thanks Eddie, I may have to look at one of those tops. It seems that they have made some changes to them since they first came out. I do like the fact that they are one piece.
