Larry, Zip has always been there with excellent service. They are my favorite. I've had issues with a couple of others. But Zip has been really good.

Dr. Rebuild has also been spot on.

My two cents worth....

Being half way around the world can make things tricky if something goes wrong. I have ordered from ZIP and on one occasion a wrong part was sent.

No problems. An apology and new part sent asap.

Good service but I found the freight charges were killing me so I get my bits from a local who brings parts in bulk.

Im sure he probably deals with Zip as they certainly had everything I ever needed and the prices were good. :flag:

It's bound to happen...whenever you need something overnight, things manage to get screwed up. :smash:

I've found this to be the case in my work, too. Whenever somebody needs a rush project, the more mistakes are made, and more time is spent fixing the problem than it would have taken if it was done in a timely manner in the first place :yesnod:

There must be a saying that goes with this fact of life...anyone?

Larry, get the control valve from VB&P - you can get the stiffer 55# spring in there
which is great for steering... The difference in price is worth it. They got it to me
when they promised...

Guess I'm just lucky in one respect- Zip's is merely 6.8 miles from my house- saves some shipping, and I can look at the product prior to purchase. They will not have the 2003 catalogs for a while yet (OK, so VBP and others don't either) but I keep checking back. The counter guy isn't as 'Vette savvy as some in the back, but I can get an answer if I persist (I just can't seem to get the names of the "gurus"....) :chevy

People make mistakes... even Corvette people. Unfortunately for businesses, they could serve a million orders correctly and it only takes a few to start negative chatter. As you all know, I am in the middle of a complete rebuild. I am not a mechanic.... but I know my Corvette well enough to know what I need. I live 15 miles from ZIP. I get ALL my parts from them. Even when I lived in PA, I bought from ZIP. I tried other vendors.... but I have to tell you, ZIP is the only choice for me. It should not matter how much money you spend, it all adds up to revenue for the business. So to WTAYLOR and the rest of the guys on FASTLANE RD. ... Keep up the good work and I will see you soon for my other parts.

Sincerely Satisfied,

Anthony Bender

I have ordered from ZIP in the past and they where pretty good for getting the stuff shipped to Canada - I guess things do happens from time to time, but they seem willing to correct the problem. :)

I know this is a ZIP thread and there are some comments on Summit in here, but
nothing on Ecklers.. . I have ordered quite a bit from them over the years and was wondering if I am missing out on something by not trying ZIP ... Is there something about Ecklers that I am missing ? I do not live near anybody so I have to order everything. How about some feedback :chevy

I do not know where the "l" went on the 1st post...

Ecklers, IMHO, is expensive. Zip provides a good product for a reasonable price.

If your a casual buyer, and have not tried other vendors, its easy to jab at them for a FUBAR transaction... But 98% of the time

They are cheaper
They are faster
They are easy to access via their WEB site... AND
If there is a FUBAR transaction, its corrected easly...

PS: Do they give discounts to FORUME members?

Sorry to hear about the problems. But as already indicated, I think that these were isolated. I am a real fan of Zip's.

The idiots at Corvette Central, however, are another story. I posted a month or so ago the story of my pump screen/pick up debacle. I had told them that I had a BB, and they delayed by motor rebuild by sending the wrong part, then wanted extra money to ensure that the replacement part got out of the door quickly. I said "duh, I gave you the information on what motor I had-I have a BIG BLOCK and you sent the SMALL BLOCK part-why should I pay extra for anything-Why should I even pay for the shipping?". At no point did anyone ever apologize for the mistake or offer to cover any shipping etc.

Then, the final salt in the wound came this week when they sent the refund slip for the returned part. THEY CHARGED ME A $2.65 RESTOCKING FEE FOR THEIR SCREW UP!!!!

Those guys suck. Stay Away.

First off, I would like to say that I apologize for the problems with this particular order. The pitman arm did show twelve in stock; but unfortunately they are used (reconditioned) parts and they tend to be inventoried a little differently than our new parts. The one in charge of our reconditioned inventory (Justin A.) looked for those arms for two days with no luck; it appears that we had a computer error.

The other items (the slotted hex nut and control valve) are leaving for you today via UPS Two Day Air (per your conversation with Justin M.). We'll pick up the shipping due to the problems you have had with this order. You will have those two items on Monday, guaranteed.

If there are any problems, let me know... we'll get them resolved as quickly as possible. Again I apologize for any inconvenience with this order. If you need anything else, feel free to contact me at wtaylor@zip-corvette.com.

I hope that helps!

-West, Zip Products Sales Representative-
Little update - went to Mexico for a few days. Got home, there was the email detailing the fact that the parts are on the way, delivery Monday.

Want to affirm ZIP did just what everyone said would happen.

Fixed the problem.

OK, I'll order again!
