Default T-Top @#$%

Hey folks...I'm trying to bring the front left corner of the passenger side t-top on my 80 down about 1/4 of an inch. I didn't think it would be such a PITA to get a good fit. ( not the originals , some idiot cracked one of those) Seems to me I would have to remove shims from the front/rear pins to get it to fit tighter but that doesn't seem to be the case..As soon as I lock the top down that front left corner pops up. Has anyone had much success in adjusting these for a nice snug fit?...Any suggestions on adjusting would be helpful...Thanks Group...

PS..I'm not in a big rush...It SNOWED about a foot and a half here in about eight hours yesterday..It will be a few days before the car leaves the garage..sighhh :( :( :(

Are you talking about the inner corner. Wouldn't you need to add shims.

...doesn't adding shims make the T-Top sit higher by moving the mounting point down? Also dealing with sealing issues, broken down to using rubber house weatherstripping :(

Adding shims will lower the mounting point, lowering the T Top. making it fit snugger.

...still confused...

the mounting points on the inside are fixed... therefor you do not actually move the mounting point by moving the male part of it. However you do move the rest of the t-top up relative to the mount... making it higher... Is this not right?

Ooh, illustration time:

Edit: typing-drawing isn't quite working, here's a better one:

If I'm wrong please explain cuz that could be a big factor in my leak problems!!

Edit: Are my (original 77) t-tops different?

Add spacers to the t top mounts to lower your t top, make it fit snugger...

I was wrong above....I thought you added spacers to your mounts

Ohhh, the mounts in the center bar? I disassembled the interior stuff to get at that but didn't see any shims so I thought they weren't designed to move. Should I just use washers, or is there a set to buy?
