I have a problem with the power windows on my 74 Coupe. The windows won´t go to the full top position. They stop around 2 inches from the top position but the engine is stil spinning. Seems like the drivegear disengages at that position. I´m guessing the linkage or gears are worn but wanted to know before I start tearing everything out. Is this a common problem?
Sorry can't help you with your powerwindow guestion. Sounds pretty much about worn out drive gear though...
But, WELCOME to the forum from your eastern neighborhood country!
And then next thing, we are crazy about pics, so could you be so kind to post few pics about your car! It's always good to have more people from Europe to join in!
This is caused by worn teeth on the regulator. Eckler's sell a repair kit that just gives you a section of new teeth so you can fix yours rather than replacing the whole assembly.
Agree that it is probably the "regulator gear". Suggest replacing the gear w/ aftermarket instead of the SS section. Explained why previously in another topic on this.
