Default Transmission Conversion on 1978

I have a 1978 C3 and since the stock 350 transmission is going, I set out to find a new one. I got a hold of a 4 speed manual from a 73 Nova, and seeing as how it fits, I'm going to go about converting. Only thing is getting the brackets and all for the mechanical clutch set up is going to very difficult, so I was thinking about replacing the whole thing with a hydraulic throwout bearing and get rid of the messy mechanical set up. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this and could tell me if it will even work, and if so, what I need to do it. Thanks.

Actually it's not difficult at all... I just swapped a Viper-spec T56 into a customer's 1980 Vette and used the mechanical linkage. GM still carries a lot of it and what they don't have Dr. Rebuild does.

Norval converted his auto to a manual and stated the hardest part is putting the clutch pedal assembly in. If you are interested in a auto overdrive a 200r4 I believe are pretty much plug and play when swapping in after a th350.
