Just recently after the first time out after winter storage, my 77 started doing the wierdest thing...when i hit the brakes my car shoots right...it never did this before i put it away. It was on the verge of needing pads & possibly rotors before i put it away and i haven't driven it much since it came out...any ideas anyone?
Sounds like your driver's side caliper is hangin up on you, if you hit the brakes and shoot to the right, your passenger side is working with little or no help from the other. I'd look at that caliper see if it's moving or not.
I planned on all new calipers, rotors, pads...the whole nine yards as a tuneup for the big block goin in...which will finally happen this summer...hopefully that solves it...thanks everyone!
It eventually got to the point were the pedal went to the floor before the car stopped!
I rebuilt all 4 calipers... putting in new O-Ring pistons. Now it stops like a champ! I got the pistons from ZTI... http://www.zerotoleranceind.com/
Keep us posted on what you do!
What did you do? Did you install the stainless sleeves yourself and then ordered the pistons from Zero Tolerance? Can you give a good description of the process? I have some old brakes lying around and may upgrade them to 0 tolerance before I sell them to a buddy of mine. I'd like to know what's involved before ordering (I'm overseas)

Actually, I didn't do them myself, a friend of mine did them for me. No sleeves are involved. He had to hone out the piston hole because from the factory, they have a tiny lip at the bottom. Once they are honed, you just slip the new o-ring pistons in place. It seems really easy, if you have the honing tool. If you want to email him directly, let me know, and I'll shoot ya his email address.
