battery is deed

is it worth it to pursue the 5 yr warranty on Interstate battery that is 4.5 yr old?

They are usually prorated and will give you a few bucks off a new one. Mine just died also with a month left on the warrenty. Figures

As a Interstate salesman, they will honor the warranty, but it will be minimal. Either way, save a few bucks on the new one. My experience with Interstate Batteries - they generally last like they should AND they back it up.

Try a Dry Cell battery. I've had mine for about a year and a half and no problems. Heard stories of them lasting over 10 years(even in the hot desert where I live). They run like $100.

Hell yes you should challenge the warranty. The manufacturer shorted you six months. Now's your chance to get a credit or a new battery at their expense.
