I know that the list of codes has been posted before, but I have searched...RALLY...RALLEY...& RALLYE in the CF archives and for whatever reason cannot find the info.
Would some one PLEASE!!!! post the list of codes again for me.
The 69 thru 82 steel rally wheels ( 15X8 ) are stamped with the letters AZ to the right of the valve stem. The 68s are 15X7 and stamped AG I beleive....not sure about 68s. If you're looking to buy used rally wheels be advised......there are Camaro rallys that are very similar to the C-3 wheels. They are 15X7 with a 4 1/2" backspacing ( vette is 4") and are stamped FW.
DaBo, just curious where you got them and what they cost. Those suckers are hard to find. I got 4 at $50 each at a vette salvage yard near Waco Texas. They needed cleaning and painting, but otherwise in good shape.
Thanks
I bought the 4 wheels (no rust, need cleaned), nice center caps, decent mismatched trim rings, and Sumitomo tires with less than 1500 miles for $250.00.
Yep, sounds like you got a good deal.....especially since you got tires and rims. The first place I tried (not the place in Waco) was kinda goofy. I called ahead to make sure they had the correct rims since It's a pretty long drive. After I got there the guy hauls out 4 rims.....they didn't look quite right...sure enough they're stamped FW. I tell the guy they're not vette rims.....he says oh yes, they came off a vette. I tell him these are Camaro rims. After 45 minutes he finally comes out with 3 rusted up C-3 rims and wants $55 each. I tell him no thanks...

As I had it explained to me....all 69 thru 82 rallys (15X8) were stamped AZ. I think I read somewhere that the smaller stamped numbers and letters can be decoded to find the year of mfg, but am not sure of this. I've looked close at the Camaro and Vette rallys and both start with a K in small stamps. Hopefully someone can chime in and educate us on what the small stamps mean.

The break down of wheel codes goes like this. The K stands for Kelsey the manf. The 1 stands for the manf plant. The 8 stands for the year (1968 or 1978). The 12 stands for the month (Dec). The 20 stands for the day of the month and the AZ is the size code used on corvettes.
The correct year code for a 71 would be a 0 or 1, 1970 or 1971 depending on the build date of your car.
Hope this helps.

I hear ya, but the wheels I have are either 68 or 78 manufacture date, I would like to figure out which one, I have another set of correct 70 manufacture date wheels for my 71,
If your wheels are K-1-8 AZs, then they are 1978 8" wheels. I just decoded my wheels this weekend, and alas, they are non-original 8 inchers (K-1-5, K-1-6, K-1-0 AZs). Unfortunately, I had a chance to buy a set of 7 inchers (AGs), and I told the guy no because I thought I had mine!
I have had a set of Corvette Rally Rims sitting in my basement for 20 something years. I got this code from them:
K 1 6 10 19 AZ. From reading on this forum, am I correct in translating this to Oct. 19 1976? Is there any chance that these are 1966 rims? Thanks very much!

I'n answer to Your question 1969 or 1979 there is no way to tell which one by looking at the Date Codes or any other marks. Same for 70-80, 71-81,72-82. The later Cars had diffrent Trim Rings wich would be a dead give away, and so many ( most) late cars were deliverd with the optional Aluminum Wheels that most likely the wheel in question would be the early one.
