Glock .45 Auto :D

Mine is the full size 9mm -- less splater and the size of the gun usually frightens most people.

I park in a garage and other than that, I make sure to keep an eye on it.

I use security system w/pager while out and about in conjuction with a hidden switch to disconnect power to ECU and TCU and another hidden switch to disconnect fuel pump. When I park in my garage, I use hidden battery dis-connect (key type) and hidden switches.

I am way under-insured so I'm taking no chances!

I have my ways, but I'm not posting them here with all you criminals. I'm going to keep you guessing.

Why don't I just give you my ATM pin while I'm at it.

I snyone using Lo Jack? If so, what is the cost.
If I keep my car, I will be getting Lo-Jack. Cost is $600 w/no monthly fees.

In the interim, I use a locking shift-**** (auto trans) and have reversed the no-start seat pressure switch ('74 only option?). Driver must raise his weight off the seat and passenger belt must be buckled (with or without passenger in seat).

Also, good insurance is a nice thing to have for peace-of-mind.

I rarely leave the C3 unattended. Either it sits in my locked garage or I am driving it. About the only time it sits unattended is when I drive it to the auto parts store and it is unlocked/topless for about 10 minutes.

The C5 is always locked when parked at restaurants. It gets light duty most of the year and I use it for roadtrips in the Summer.

Alarm in the garage, paging car alarm with ignition kill, secret kill switch. I don't leave her in sketchy places.

This should keep the punks out but if somebody wants it bad enough they will find a way. All you can do is make it harder for them.

I always keep everything locked up with alarms on. The easiest time for a thief to steal your stuff is when you least expect it, like when you are home, your doors are unlocked and your alarm is off.

I use one of those pedal locks. A LOT harder to get around than a club. Baically the theif would need a grinder to cut through the thing which means a lot of noise while his back is exposed. Not a position theives like to be in.

Chris
I had one of those on mine until I saw a guy hack saw his way through a steering wheel in 15 seconds.....remove it......and drive off with the car in under a minute.

I've wondered the same thing. But an average $10-$25K C3 or a $50K C5? Hmmm. A pro theif can't be stopped, but by making it harder you'll stop the joy rider.

Pager alarm with impact sensor...I want to know if someone bumps it with a shopping cart too! I've been thinking about Lo-Jack though. Are you sure there's no monthly/yearly fees?

I have several lines of defense. 1st I have the battery disconnect switch. 2. One mean dog. 3. Baseball bat(if within range) 4. 12 gauge shotgun if within 5-50 yards. 5. 30-06 for 50 yards and over. 6. Friends in lowly places that would hunt the bugger down and bring him to me. :smash:

Is this a theft post or a gun post? yeah I have to carry a gun as I am still a Commissioned Officer and I have a few who hold grudges over a bust or something................

Glock Model 23, 40S&W - Kel Tec P32 backup and a Kel Tec 40S&W SUB2000 Rifle that folds in half to 16" and uses Glock 22 mags that will share with my #23. And ocassionally a 442 S&W hammerless Airweight Ankle 38 Spec.

When I had the '70 BB Vette I had the console 4 speed insert of the console on a hinge that wouyld flip up to hold my 38 snub nose:yesnod:

In My garage is a sign on the wall that says.

"There is Nothing In This Building Worth Your Life!" :nopity

Like joeveto, I ain't tellin' what I use other than a chain! On the Lojack system, I've mentioned before on this forum that our fleet at the University has 2 (out of 11) patrol units with Lojack trackers. In this area, they now have complete coverage, and the cops actually do inter-jurisdiction practice with a "rabbit" car. It's like a game for them, and I like it a lot. Plus it's REALLY helpful to have freinds in law enforcement. I take great care of their equipment, and while it would be a conflict of interest ;) to ask for help in a situation such as we are discussing, I have confidence it would get their full attention, know what I mean?

There are monthly fees for Lojack.

No I didn't sit there and watch him.....I was laying there watching him (from my couch).....it was a TV documentary.....probably illegally copied and later distributed around the country to educate up and coming thieves on how to steal their first car :D .

Actually it was very interesting to see the different techniques used to defeat the various gadgetry sold to us. Most of it is easily defeated. Seems like there are more than just car thieves out there....there are also the thieves that prey on your fears and try to sale you something that they know can be easily foiled.

There are NO monthly fees for Lo-Jack (at least not in FLA). They are a client, but I receive no special treatment. They do not mention monthly fees on their website, either.
