Did you hear them bouncing off the rev limiter at the light? Holy crap.
If I *ever* bounce off the rev limiter in a car, I always feel guilty as sin for at least ten minutes.
I don't even rev my 'vette past 5k.

Steve, I bounced off my rev limiter like that in my eclipse about a month ago. I got it washed at a carwash and I was driving it away and the floor mat must have been stuck in the gaspedal when they were cleaning it and sure enough it sounded just like that. Except louder! I was pretty scared at the time, but it sounded pretty cool too. I had never bumped it against the limiter like that before (hit it for split seconds but nothing like that). No point in me doing that in a race as I have no traction with FWD anyway ;)
In the vette I rev up to 6k occasionallyl but not very often. If I got a C5 I would probably rev it if it felt like it had any power up there. On my Eclipse is makes all the power up high so unfortunately gotta keep it up there. I beat the crap out of that car (as you have experienced) but its done well. And I've done well by it (no overboosting lilke that!)

Ter- Yeah, you surprised the heck out of me when you went nearly 360 degrees on the tachometer. :) Somehow, I felt like I was a special friend! By the way, you should see if Mountain View custom alignment will set your steering box for you. They did mine, and it feels great. My only concern for you is, when you set the box, if you set it too tight, it can cause damage...
You'll have to give my car a drive again, after I put the smart struts on. I feel it's a lot better in the corners, but I still think you'll skid it quite easily. :)

I have seen a lot of videos, even C5 burnouts where the driver has the car pegged against the rev limiter. What ever happened to watching the tach ?
