I am guessing the choke spring is what you want?
Page 103 of the Volunteer Vette Products catalog list the
66-70 choke spring(66-67 All, 68-69 BB) Part # FU134 @ $12.50
Just put one on 69 3X2 . @ 2 days from ordering part was identical to the original I took off, except new. http://WWW.volvette.com
I ordered the catalog online(free) and got it in about a week.
Frank- I think you got me on track in more ways than one. I will work with VVP to get the spring. I had the idea that it was a bimetalic strip- a thermostat device. After your post I pulled it out and unwound it 360 degrees and the choke closed and the car started cold without all the fussing and messing. A new one with the right tension sounds like what I need. Thanks!
Good deal. Yes the bi-metal wound spring thingy. I am sure the other parts places have them , but I didn't see the part numbers listed for them. My choke was hanging up inside the carb when the plate tried to close it was scraping the inside of the carb. I took a little off the edge of the plate when I rebuilt the carbs. Works perfectly now. I followed Lars' tune up tricks for thhe Holley too. You can always learn something.
