I wouldn't go so far as to say it's easy. You will need to remove the handle for repair. This will involve removing the door panel, plastic insulator, lock guard, latch assembly, and then you will be able to get to the 2 nuts holding the handle in place. From that point it's easy :D Things you will want to have before starting the project include a new door handle gasket and the replacement spring, which I am reasonably sure you should be able to find at any of the normal Corvette suppliers. This is always a good opportunity to lubricate all the moving parts in the door (window regulator, latch, etc) as long as you are in there. I know this isn't the answer you really wanted to hear, but it's not all that tough to do. Just a good afternoon project, good luck!
been there...done that...
a word of advise...buy a whole new handle and forget about replacing the spring...
and those "helper springs"...forgetaboutit...they suck and are a waste of time...
