So what did you guys with Tremec TKO's do for your speedo cable? The way it is angled it seems there's no way to keep it from contacting the exhaust pipe (unless you have sidepipes, of course). I wrapped aluminum heat insulation around it but that didn't work. The speedo died today. I figure the cable got too hot, bind, and stripped the plastic gear in the tranny.
I have a 90 dgr adapter on order and hope that will let me get the cable away from the exhaust.
I used the ford version of the Tremec TKO and the speedometer cable came out well in front of the crossmember.
This is a poor shot but without the exhaust pipes installed.

Yeah, that's what mine looks also. But with exhaust pipes running through the crossmember the pipe touches the cable. Can't bend it enough to clear.
I wish I could offer something. So far mine is working, tho I did have to bend the cable a little tighter to get it off the exhaust. Probably don't have enough miles on it to no if it will last. How much was the 90 degree adapter (just in case)?

Just wanted to post that Swarr (Swarr automotive where I bought the tranny) was nice enough to send me a new speedo adapter shaft even though I told him how it broke and it really wasn't the fault of the adapter.
