My Corvette has been undergoing a paintjob project for the last 7 months. The tachometer quit working when I disconnected the battery to work on the doors.
It first was stuck at about 1000RPM but when revving, it moved and stuck at 2000RPM, and once again a week later stuck again at 1500RPM. I have never seen it move but always notice it after it gets stuck.
I checked the connection at the distributor and that did not improve anything. Are there any other easy, common fixes I can try before I have to take the dash out to get to the thing to work on?
What do y'all think could be the problem and what is the easiest way to check and work on it?
