Wheel studs and A arms
When I was going through my front end to replace the upper ball joints with extended ball joints I wanted to replace my studs in the frame that hold the cross shaft on the A arms. My old ones were 28 years old and I like replace things.
Anyway I went to the deals for new studs and they were about $4.50 each no problem but I had to buy a skin package of 10.
No way I was paying $45.00 plut tax to replace 4 studs so I looked for an alternative.
I found that our 7/16th wheel studs fit perfectly. The spline was right to press in the hole and other then fine verse coarse thread it was a perfect match.
Since all 20 of my wheel studs have been upgraded to longer 1/2 inch studs I used 4 wheel studs as replacement studs for my A arms.
Thought maybe someone runs into this some time and this is an alternative. You can buy studs easy enough.
