Do I need to lubricate...
a brand new speedometer cable in the original packaging that was purchased 15 years ago. I bought this speedometer cable and never used it but will be installing it soon. Thanks for any replies.

Seems like the condition of the lube/grease has a lot to do with it. You could pull the core out a-little and inspect the lube.. Try twisting the cable with your fingers... that might give some indication of its condition. If questionable, clean and relube - KableEase works well. One tube is all thats needed. You can get it at a local parts store for about $2. :flag
