What should my oil pressure be at when I am idleing and when I am crusing at like 2500 rpms. I don't know if the year and engine option matters, or if it is the same for all 350's. But if it matters I have a basically stock 81 Vette, with just under 70,000 miles. I want to get an average of what everyone's oil pressure is so I can have a baseline to compare mine to. I am not a genius when it comes to being a mechanic. I wouldn't say I am an idiot either. I worry when I am out driving, and I am planning on extending my short drives. But before I do I want to know what my oil pressure should be at. Thanks for any help you can give me.
That rule of thumb of BB wowbagger is right on. 10 pounds per 1000 rpm. So if you turn 6000 you need 60 psi.

A normal bearing clearance of .0025 mains and rods takes 1 gallon of oil per minute leakage. Increase the clearance by .001 and the oil comsumption goes up to 2.5 gallons per minute per main bearing.
Clearances greatly effect oil pressure.
