I only intended to take off the old manifold and maybe start cleaning the heads but I still had daylight left so on went the new manifold, then in went the injectors and distributor. Looks like an engine again. The only thing I have left to do is attach the heater hose outlet, get a thermostat housing gasket :mad and fill with coolant. (I just don't see why an INTAKE GASKET SET doesn't include a thermostat housing gasket.)
Hope to have the gas tank back from the welder within the week and be able to get it coated fairly quickly. From here on out it's just plumbing and wiring. :hurray:

Looking good brother. Please replace the nasty yellow radiator overflow. To much nice stuff to have that ugly $15 part left in there. Can't wait to see how you like it.

 That's next on the list. Cap doesn't even stay on this one. New coolant resevoir and chrome alternator waiting to go on. Also looking for a way of cleaning up my brake booster and master cylinder. It's amazing how new parts make everything else look SOOOOO dirty.
Jeff, you are correct, it's a ZZ4. The fuel injection kit is Holley's, Summit part # HLY-91004101.
I got tired of fighting carb ghosts and really liked the complete adjustability/real time feedback of EFI. I drive my car right up until the first snow so I really want a no-hassle induction system.
Re: EFI Update... Engine work done! (Cookwithvette)
Cook,
Congrats. The hardest part for me was routing the harness thru the firewall, and installing the ECU behind the dash. Not hard, just takes a little patience
I would start removing the passenger side dash pad and start a plan. Be aware, route all your wires FIRST, then decide on a mounting location for the ECU. That way, you know you have enough slack in the harness to make it to the ECU
Drill the hole in your firewall from the inside of the car (you cant do it with the engine in anyhow). BE SURE you dont drill thru any existing wires, hoses, or heater core!

Looking good, dude. That's about what mine looks like too. I'm working on the fuel pump right now. I just removed the fuel tank. I'll post some pictures tonight.

Nice install Cookie. :D Looks cleaner than most carb setups. Holley makes some nice equipment. :yesnod: Where is all the wiring? Thats what intimidates me.
Replied to your mail for the intake. No rush buddy. I can see your plenty busy!
