Hey guys - does anyone know the torque specs for my engine mounts for my 454?
I had some trouble with a "Made in Korea" rubber engine mount giving up after 2,653 miles. It let the alternator fan eat a hole in my upper radiator hose. I've decided on an Energy Suspension poly engine mount with the integral safety thingy - don't know the terms, but the cut-away view gave me some comfort. And the guys at the speed shop where I bought it said they've never seen one come back.
Anyway, I can't find the engine mount torque spec in my shop manual, or the overhaul manual, or Haynes (it says to tighten securely) or Chilton's.
There was a spec range that came with the mounts from Energy Suspension, and I suppose that will do in a pinch, although it gives a range - not a spec.
Also, should I change out the attaching hardware? Thanks, GM
