Default Hood stop locations

I just received my new hood stop bumpers and am confused as to their factory locations. Someone previously removed the stops and painted the car so I have no indication as to the location. The stops also have two sided tape on two surfaces. The stops are retangular shaped so are they intended to be installed in different orientations depending upon the recess in the fender.

Stops should have been trapezoidal with adhesive on longest side. Where did you get them? Spacers go in center of hood arch to raise hood in arch areas but probably could be placed somewhere in center third of hood length. As you know they go in channel that runs the length of the fenders. I got mine from Ecklers. Remember...they may need shortening so as not to over-arch hood. Do several tests before glueing them in. Any firm rubber spacer would work.

I got them from Ecklers and they are trapazodal however they have adhesive on two sides. If I position them with the small end of the trapazoid up they are to short to fit in the deeper recesses of the fender yet they would fit if I rotate them on their side.

Sounds like fenders are bonded to fender wells too low which would explain hood fitment problems. The fix for that is not an easy one but is do-able. Take about 2-3 hours to adjust fenders upwards. Otherwise...increase height of rubber bumpers.
