Please, I need help on how much its worth?
Hi,
I am looking for opinions on how much a friends car is worth. It is a '78 silver anniversary. Red on red. Automatic. L-82. 13,000 original miles. He is the original owner. Picked it up at the factory. (he as an in)
The car is completly original, and he has alot of nos parts for when anything does wear out, including tires. He also has almost all the 1978 memorbilia that was offered at the time.
The car is driven very little, and is so clean you could literally eat out of the fenderwells or off the bottom of the car. It looks brand new. I want to buy the car from him, and am looking for opinions on what it might cost me. He has asked 18,500 in the past to others but thinks it could be more than that now. Even if I don't buy it, he will have some help with what he should ask.

Sounds like it 'might' be a bit much, considering it's not even 'THE' Silver Anniversary Edition (Silver/Charcoal two-tone). Looking in the newest CORVETTE TRADER, I see a 'true' Silver/Charcoal model, 17,500 original miles, asking price is $14,500. There are some Pace Cars listed as well; 12,336 miles, $18,950; 5k miles, $15,000 (?); 12,800 miles, $19,995; 6,890 miles, $18,500... As that you know the car's history, 'YOU' might find the price OK. I paid $15,000 for my 11k mile '82, but ONLY because I knew and trusted the previous owner, and she had the documented history..... Just my $.02 worth..... :chevy

Hi Rick,
Welcome to the forum. The car sounds very nice but I think he would have to bring it to Carlisle to get that price. Might be tough to get it here in CT with the current economy and job losses.
Of course it would be a nice addition to the Club Corvette of Ct show that you sponsor for us at your place in July :D

Hi Rick,
I recently purchased a 78 with 21K miles from the original owners. Red on red, two sets of t-tops (mirrored & painted) original tires, exhaust, paint, etc. L-48 with auto. Clean enough to eat off of underneath, car cover included. I paid $10,000 :hurray: :hurray:
