Would following setup work on my vette without hitting the frame?? (on the rear)
Centerline Convo Pro rims 15 x 10 with 5 inch backspacing and 28 x 12.5-15 ET Street tires.
I have offset trailing arms - so hitting the trailing arm isn't a concern.. but I'm concerned about the tire hitting the frame...
Here's a shot from behind the tire. With the 15x9's with 5 1/2"BS,and running a 1 1/4" wheel adaptor,I've never rubbed the frame. When I hit second at 6500 rpms if it gonna hit, that would be the time.

1 1/4 inch wheel adaptor?? This means that you are effectively only running 4 1/4 backspacing.. I'm planning on running 5" effective backspacing with a very wide tire (the wheel size doesn't matter that much.. it's the tire that's pretty wide)...
My guess is that you will have contact with 5"BS AND fatter tires. I went to great pains just to squeeze my P295's under the fenders.
I think that I would need 4 1/2 inch backspacing not to hit the frame... but I'm not sure.. Would be great if someone around my area would have such setup so that I could test-fit it...
Why not just cut a notch out of the frame if they do rub, and fill it in with a V shaped weld?

Well - I don't have the equipment to do that.... and I also don't feel comfortable to cut the frame... I'd rather go with the correct backspacing...
I think that the tires would fit with 4.5 inch backspacing...
4 rims are Centerline Auto Drags and 2 rims are TT2's.
The Centerline have 255/60R15 BFG's on them and the TT2's have 275/60R15 BFG Drag Radials on them...
GrandsportC3 I say no. I ran almost the same combination with modifications. I ran centerline drag lites, 8.5 inch wide with 5 inch backspacing and 12.50 x 28 x 15 MT Sportsman Pro's . I have the offset trailing arms and ended up adding about 3/8th spacer on one side and 1/2 on the other side to keep the tire off the frame. I ended up modifying the frame slight just above the trailing arm pocket and also grinding 1/2 the lip off the outer edge of the fenders.
I still sometimes ran into slight rubbing on the frame with this combination.
Later switching to MT but 11.50's I found they swayed alot more then the wrickle wall Sportsman Pro's
Be careful you don't get too much tire under your car or it will slow down. Sometimes adding too much tire take away from the ET's. I have lost 1/2 a second by having too much tire.
You want as small a tire as possible but one that still does the job.
Forgot with the 5 inch backspacing you will also run into the spring.
Drive up to canada and I will let you try 5 inch backspacing. :)
Someone started a thread a little while ago where everyone posted thier tire sizes and thier backspacing with pics, great thread. Your combo may be in there.

Looks like I will have to try 15x10 inch rims with 4.5 inch backspacing...
do you have them posted yet? would that size/backspacing fit under my car? I still have original trailing arms. I'm just looking for possibilities
I think that 15x10 with 4.5 inch backspacing should fit... However - I have never tried that setup... I also would have to find rims that come in 15 x 10 with 4.5 inch backspacing...
