Do you keep the glass tops in the storage cases that come with the car or is there a better alternative? They do not seem like they would protect from scratching very well. Especially when stored on top of each other in the car. The painted tops are quite a bit lighter so would not seem to be much of a problem. Is there somewhere I can get a more heavily padded case or am I worrying to much?
Normally I placed each one in a heavy towel and then placed one between them before tying them down in the back so 3 towels were used, worked pretty well but was a pain in the butt to mess with every time I wanted to take the tops on or off. I currently store my tops on the bed in my spare bedroom, but doesn't everyone :lol:
T-top bags are avail from alot of Vendors. I wrap mine in a bath towel and then put them in their separate bags......it works for me but then mine arent glass either. GOOD LUCK
i was fortunate enought to get glass tops AND painted tops when i bought my car....
i leave my painted ones in their bags strapped down in the car and when i go topless, i simply put the glass ones in the house...
that way i always have the painted ones with me in case of rain... :yesnod:
other than that...i never use the painted ones...
On the car usually...
When I remove them I usually stand them up in the dining room.
but if on a cruise I will use 2-3 towels to protect the painted surfaces.

I tried the towel-between-the-tops thing once. Now my passenger top has a scratched patch on it about 4 in. X 4 in. I musta done something wrong but can't figure what.
I just use the original bags, they've worked fine for me. No scratches yet, and they slide around on each other once in a while. I wouldn't worry too much with the original bags.
I have seen 3 possibilities;
Strapping them on the luggage rack
Leaving them in the garage
Putting them in a bag and loading them in the cargo area.
For me the first two are out, I don’t have a luggage rack and I need them with me.
I’m hesitant to load them in a bag where they will rub and the paint might get scratched (I have seen posts to that affect). So, I though about building a rack for the cargo area for them. Has anyone done this?
I just have the glass roof panels and usually leave them installed on the car but I built a rack from some lumber on one garage wall and I store the panels there when they are not on the car. Sometimes on a nice sunny day (there are a lot of them here in Florida) I will take the car out for a top removed drive. I just don't like to carry the panels in the factory bags and left in the back when I leave the car parked somewhere. I worry about them being stolen in my absence. Plus, I don't like putting them in and out of the bags by my self while out on a drive. It's an unnecessary hassle in my opinion.
