It was optional early on, but sometime very early into the C3s it was made standard if I recall correctly. I could be wrong, but I know this: it was a standard by the latest the early 70's.

I believe Positrack became standard for 1969 and later vettes, or at least my book shows no option number for it, while all the prior years it was the G81 option.
My 69 build sheet shows G81 as a Posi. It became standard in 1970.
Larry, was the posi one of the "manditory options" in '69? I have this vague memory of reading somewhere that all '69s had positraction even though it was an "option." Of course, the memory ain't what it used to be. . .

No, it was not "manditory". I have a previously un-molested '69 which I had to add a posi carrier to.
Also, according to my Black Book, almost 2000 had the open rear end. Lucky me :crazy:
