I just got it started. I've been having a few distributor issues. Somehow I solved them and it runs! I have some startup tweaking to do but it's time to party! This is awesome, I'm looking forward to poking the keyboard and watching the engine respond. Rock on!
Let me know if you have any Q's while tuning as I've gone through this. One thing to remember is to take oyur time. GM doesn't develop their maps in a week, so neither should you. It doesn't take all that long to get something that will drive ok, but getting that last little bit of perfection takes some time. It's fun though!
Thanks everyone. Thank you, Markus, for your insight and help. The funny thing is that I decided to try a different combination of the parts Holley sent. I used the original module and the new coil and that worked. When it didn't work the first time I changed everything, module, pick-up and coil. Apparently the new module was bad and so was the old coil. There's nothing like successive, unique failures to make diagnosis a challenge.
The engine idles smooth when compared to the carb (which is kind of a bummer, I like rough idles). It has very good throttle response and pulls very smooth. I'm looking forward to driving it a lot and fine tuning things.

That is just what I'm hoping to get when I fire up my car for the first time with the new EFI installed. Keep us posted on the fine tuning and driving experiences

Sounds like it is time for a bigger cam. :steering:
