I've dealt with them too. It might be less grief to try bolting a big block head to one side of your motor and using what they sent you. ;)

I've spent lot of dough on buying my engine related stuff from Summit, never had a single issue with them. :yesnod:

I agree. I've only had issue with them on my wheels. I received two of them that looked like they had been mounted on a car already. They fixed it.

I have had great luck with Summit - no problems, and I don't even remember if Summit did this... but your story reminds me of the one where the guy ordered his headers and had them shipped to JET HOT for coating, and when he received the headers he noticed that both were identical, ie, both were for the same side... and I was like.. gee, didn't anybody notice?? MJ

That was me. I got two right side Dynomax headers. Then I got a both sides the second time, but one of the headers obviously wasn't for a Corvette. The collector was aimed in a way that would have put the exhaust pipe into the floor. After that I said screw it, and bought Hookers, and got the right set the first time. Maybe they all hire idiots to pack their stuff?

AC

[Edit - That WASN'T me.....my mix up was from Jeg's...sorry]

I've had good luck with them so far. They've treated me good, I'd recommend them.

Summit have been helpful to me but it took 8months to get a set of pistons out of them. They were advertised available and then they said no stock.
In the end I chased down the manufacturer (keith Black) and asked them what was happening. They said they had just finished another run of the pistons and would put a set aside for me. Called Summit straight away and they got them to me in 2 weeks.
Allow for international shipping.
Was placing an order with another supplier and discussed a fan shroud. Decided I didn't want it and they sent it with the other parts anyway. The other parts were small and rattled around in the box with the shroud.
End total: $99 for repro shroud I am not going to use
$385 for shipping UPS to Australia
Anybody want a $600AUS Fan shroud for BB? Shipping extra!

I've generally had good luck with Summit, and JEG's for that matter. The only problem I had was when I ordered my headers/sidepipes the packing was crap and UPS (United Package Smashers) had obviously dropped the side tubes as the exhaust ends were crushed shut, TWICE they did that. So Summit just packed them crappy, but UPS destroyed them, Summit took them back no questions and sent replacements right away. Mistakes happen, I just hate it when they happen to me :D

I ordered $750 of stuff from them by fax. One item was screwed up, so I faxed a letter explaining the problem and attached a copy of my original order.
They ignored the letter and refilled the original order in total! Cost me $100 in shipping to send it all back. Jegs, Rockauto, or Pace for me since then.
